After graduating from the Ontario College of Veterinary Medicine, Jeff served as a veterinarian in both the public and private sectors. In the late 1980’s Jeff combined his love of animals and business by opening a chain of modern pet centers in Montreal replete with veterinary services. It proved to be a successful and innovative approach to the pet industry. The business earned various accolades including the Consumers’ Choice Award for Customer Service Excellence.
After 10 years of building the business Jeff sold his shares and accepted an opportunity to take the Consumers’ Choice Award to the United States. Although he missed the fast pace of both retail and veterinary medicine, Jeff was gratified by his new career with the Consumers’ Choice Award. The Consumers’ Choice Award brought Jeff in close contact with successful entrepreneurs and a varied mixture of business enterprises. He also discovered that the entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well. It seemed however that small businesses were under appreciated and the unsung heroes of the American economy. For those markets served by the CCA this situation was soon rectified.
Jeff introduced the CCA in four markets where it was soon lauded by both consumers and business owners. It was especially gratifying to see business owners receive the recognition they deserved. Recently, in an attempt to leverage his knowledge of small business success, Jeff launched the Business Community Network (BCN). The BCN provides a platform for local entrepreneurs to come together for the purpose of networking and sharing advice for success. Unlike other networking organizations, the BCN is strategic in its approach. Everything the BCN undertakes is designed to maximize and enhance the networking experience.
Today, Jeff and the BCN team take pride in building an organization that serves its growing membership and delivers the tools needed for continued success.
